How To Start A Blog In The Philippines: 2022 Update

Starting a blog in the Philippines is an excellent idea in 2022. Not only can it be an enjoyable hobby, but it can also be a rewarding income source.

However, one of the most common questions about blogging in the Philippines is,… is blogging still profitable in 2022?

Absolutely! Not only is it profitable, but it can also be turned into a very high-income stream if you can build your blog correctly.

Through today’s guide on how to start a blog in the Philippines, I will explore many different questions and steps you will need to build a successful blog in the Philippines.

PART 1

How To Start A Blog In The Philippines

You may notice every successful small or new business because they most often have a specific niche.

When looking at how to start a blog in the Philippines, it’s critical to build a niche.

Niches usually have many advantages (being able to rank quicker, being an expert in the field, finding your audience easier, etc.).

Still, one mistake many new bloggers make is to pick a topic that is too broad.

Suppose you are an experienced blogger, and your website has gained a lot of domain authority (domain authority is a ranking factor in Google’s eyes).

In that case, you stand more of a chance of speaking about more boarded terms.

But if you are looking at being a successful Blogger in the Philippines and your blog is new, then it is often best to pick a specific niche.

A niche is a specific topic within a broad industry. Here is an example of five industries.

  1. Food
  2. Fitness
  3. Fashion
  4. Travel
  5. Animals

But these industries are too big and are often very difficult to rank; therefore, it’s wise to choose a sub-niche that is a specific topic within this industry.

Here are a few examples based on the above industries.

  1. Sub-Niche: Vegan Food For Beginners
  2. Sub-Niche: Outside Fitness Or The Elderly
  3. Sub-Niche: Street Fashion Of China
  4. Sub-Niche: Travelling The Islands Of The Philippines On A Budget
  5. Sub-Niche: Taking Care Of Lizards

These are not the best examples, but they show us that we can take an industry and break it down into a specific topic.

So if you are looking at how to be a Blogger in the Philippines, one of the first steps is to choose your niche.

Exercise: Write down five industries you are interested in.

From there, look into sub-niches that you feel will be profitable and has low competition.

It’s always important to research your industry to avoid wasted time and energy.

Lastly, when looking at how to start a blog in the Philippines, it’s essential to ensure that your topic is something people are looking for.

In other words, try not to create content around a topic that is too small that nobody is interested in but not too big that you don’t rank. The balance is sometimes hard to define, but it can be done.

I earn a high income from this website each month from advertising alone.

However, one of my big mistakes is that I did not choose a niche.

Fortunately, I have been blogging for years, and I know how to rank easily, but if I chose a niche rather than a general industry, I would have earned double the amount of money I am making now.

Many people wonder how can I become a Blogger in the Philippines?

The great news is the process is straightforward.

However, some people find our next step slightly challenging. Let’s take a look at choosing your web hosting service and your domain name.

  • Question 1: What Topic Are You Interested In?
  • Question 2: What Topics Are Hot?
  • Question 3: Where Are The Gaps?
  • Question 4: How Can I Help People?

There are 4 basic blogging questions

But they are beneficial in finding out what blogging niche is best.

The next stage is to build your plan. This will include things such as…

  • How Much Time Are You Going To Be Spending On Your Site Each Week?
  • Where Will You Be Getting Your Images From?
  • How Will You Find Your Readers?
  • How They Will Find You?
  • Will You Share Your Video On Youtube?

Starting a blog in the Philippines without a plan is never a good idea if you are looking to make money from your blog one day.

Therefore, let us look into how to build a plan.

I tend to do with all my blogs when I start what I call a 90 (sometimes 180) day strategy.

This 90-day strategy consists of everything I need for the first three months my blog is alive, including how much content I will be posting, where I will be sharing this, and finally, how I’m going to grow the website.

If this is your first blog or your 10th, I would always strongly recommend you adapt your 90-day strategy for your blog.

Some people do not have a plan, and they don’t know that they are behind with their foreseen returns. This is known as “willful blindness.”…

…In other words, they could have known, but they chose not to.

So having a plan and a strategy will help you overall, not just in your building stage but also in your development stages as the life of your blog grows.

Any respectful Blogger or somebody who has experience with building websites will tell you that blogging is not something you can earn quick cash from.

Even though this is possible, it often takes many months, sometimes years, for bloggers to start becoming profitable.

There are many reasons behind this: rankings, the number of content, and other things.

Many times, bloggers have stopped blogging months or even weeks before they hit their goldmine.

A friend of mine built his passive income from the hard work of others.

Let me explain.

Many people give up blogging too soon because they don’t see the results they expected.

The writers feel that they are writing to a ghost town, then they start to feel disheartened. These people then decide to sell their blogs….

… the friend of mine takes an entrepreneurial look at their blog.

He then decides to buy struggling blogs sometimes, and he changes a few minor details while others have a total website makeover. Most of the blogs he buys require very little maintenance.

He finds that blog posts start ranking after 6-12 months (if the original blogger writes a good article), and my friend starts seeing income from his investment.

So, don’t give up! When building your plan, there are a few questions you should always ask yourself, which I’m going to list below to help you build your 90-day strategy for a blog in the Philippines.

  • How Many Hours A Week Will I Be Spending On My Blog?
  • How Can I Promote My Blog?
  • Can I Increase The Avenues Of Making Money From My Posts?
  • What Kind Of Posts Do I Need To Post In My Selected Niche?
  • How Am I Going To Be Different From Somebody Else Who Is Blogging About This Topic?
  • Am I Prepared To Wait Several Months, Even Possibly Years, Before I Start Making A Full-Time Income From This Blog?
  • Who Is My Ideal Reader, And Where Can I Find Them?

These are a few of the questions I originally asked myself.

I have altered them a little bit, so they are more relevant to you and your situation.

Warren Buffett famously said an idiot with a plan could beat a genius without a plan.

A domain name is your website’s address

Blogschool.PH (my old website), for example.

Domain names can be purchased directly with your web hosting service (which we will be talking about soon), or they can be purchased from a domain name company and transferred to your web hosting service.

Domain names are essential.

They give your audience a clear signal of what your website is about or who you are, but they can also impact your search engine optimization.

Websites with an extension (such as PH) show to a Filipino audience more often because the extension PH is for the Philippines

However, .com is the strongest and leading extension. If you are looking to target a global audience or you are looking to attract readers from other countries, then [.com] would often be best.

A web hosting service is a company that hosts your website. In simplest terms, they make it possible for your website to be seen on the Internet.

For example, Wix is a top-rated service in the Philippines because they are a web hosting service and an editing service, which means everything is run off Wix.

But Wix has limitations.

A web hosting service is slightly different; they are separate.

This means you will also need to find a website editing tool such as WordPress.

Once you have a domain name (name of your website), a web hosting service (which allows your website to be seen), and a WordPress account (which will enable you to edit your website), Then you can start to build your blog.

As mentioned previously, WordPress is a free editing service. In addition, WordPress can be partnered with many web hosting services, which we will look at shortly.

But what about Wix? ☹

Wix is excellent for new bloggers. However, if you are looking at how to start a blog in the Philippines and want to be a successful Blogger, choosing a more professional service would be advised.

Wix also has a lot of disadvantages.

For example, as they are a web hosting service, your website may go down if there is a problem with their service, and you cannot connect to another web hosting service.

Additionally, they have minimal features, often it is a simple drag and drop process, and there may be certain extras you wish to add to your website that may not be available on the Wix marketplace.

Before We Move On…

WordPress and web hosting can seem a little bit scary if you’ve never heard of this before, and in the first few days, I felt so confused. But it’s similar to getting a new phone… once you’ve practiced a few times, you’re an expert.

Choosing a web hosting service is essential from a financial aspect and a speed aspect.

Google has spoken about just how vital the speed of a website is.

A slow website affects SEO, meaning that your website, if slow, will not be shown to as many people, so it’s vital that your website is fast and effective.

We have spoken in detail about several web hosting services in the Philippines, their prices, and their pros and cons, which you can view on the hyperlink above.

Best WebHost For The Philippines – Bluehost, All of the blogs we operate are through Bluehost!

Personally speaking, I’ve always had a remarkable connection speed, and their customer service has been fantastic.

On top of this, the dashboard is super easy to use.

A standard account is more than enough; however, if your website hits 100,000 visitors +, you may be better off with a premium account.

Launched in 1996, Bluehost is owned by Endurance Corp. It is one of the best web hosting providers for users who are new to making their websites. It is also known to offer services at a reasonable price and performance.

When you click on the button above, click on WordPress on the Bluehost website’s top left-hand tab.

From there, click on WordPress hosting.

Bluehost makes it very easy to become a customer of their service, start a WordPress account, and connect to a domain name all at once.

The process can take as little as 10 minutes!

There are other web hosting services you can choose from, which have been spoken about in our full article regarding web hosting services in the Philippines.

First, we’re going to look at your domain name.

A domain is just your website name like google.com or facebook.com.

There are lots of things to consider when choosing a domain name.

You cannot change or edit once you have purchased so, you must consider a few different options.

I have listed a few essential facts, which are shown in the image below.

Now that we have some tips on choosing your domain, it’s important to mention a few different points that will help you build a killer blog in the Philippines.

When I chose Filipinowealth.com, it summed up the brand of my audience I was aiming for.

However, I wish I chose a “.PH” Rather than a. “COM” Extension.

Why I should have chosen “.PH”? If I selected “.PH,” it would have a better effect concerning geotargeting.

For instance, it is much more likely that a website “.PH” will be higher on the search engine rankings than “.com” if the visitors were looking for information that is only applicable to the Philippines.

The extension is one of many algorithms google uses so, it might not matter what extension you have on your site, but every little help.

Another thing worth mentioning is when you purchase a brand new domain, it is like a new baby. In website terms having a new baby is not always a good thing.

There are many factors to consider, not all of them we will go over, but the rule of thumb is the older the domain name typically, the more authority it has and the higher it will show up on search engines such as Google.

Of course, this is not the whole picture, as many different factors will affect your website.

Many studies have concluded that higher domain authority sites were typically ones over several years old.

However, a Google employee recently stated domain age does not matter to search results and rankings.

The question now is should you purchase a new or older domain?

There are strong arguments on both sides, but typically, this ultimately depends on the length of this business venture.

In other words, if you are looking to start a website for only six months to a year, perhaps you are selling a currently trending product.

It may be worth your time to purchase an older domain with more authority to help you get higher in the search results.

On the other hand, if you are in this business venture for the long run, then a new domain may be more suitable for you.

There are many sites that you can use to purchase domain names.

The most common for the Philippines tends to be GoDaddy.

However, if you want to buy an older domain, you can use a website such as flippa.com or Godaddy.

On a side note, flippa.com is also an excellent website for buying already built online businesses and blogs.

Dot.ph Is the website you need to visit if you’re looking for a .PH extension domain name.

For a complete guide on web hosting check out our full article on the best web hosting services in the Philippines.

Once you have a domain name, you will need a hosting service.

This is typically where new bloggers get confused

Please don’t worry. In the simplest terms, a domain name is just a website.

These characters are something someone types in, also known as the address destination they are then taken to when they click on your link.

The hosting is the service used, so your domain name is accessible to the public via the world wide web.

If you have ever used the website Wix.com which is suitable for beginners, you may know that Wix is a website builder and a server for beginners, whereas WordPress is not as easy but is the most popular web builder.

WordPress has multiple options for hosting by different companies.

This means you can choose a plan at a suitable price for you. WordPress is completely free.

You will only ever pay for the hosting service. WordPress recommends a few different hosting services. I would recommend Bluehost.

As mentioned before, WordPress itself is entirely free, but it will require you to purchase a web hosting service and a domain name.

Option 1: (best for control, speed, and growth)

  • WordPress: Free
  • Bluehost: $4.95 (276 PHP) Per Month / Other Hosting Services
  • COM Domain Name: $10-$20 Per Year – OR – PH Domain Name: $45 Per Year

Option 2: (best for beginners & hobby blogs)

  • Wix $4.50 (251 PHP) – Includes Hosting & Editing / Other Web Building Platform
  • COM Domain Name: $10-$20 Per Year – OR – PH Domain Name: $45 Per Year

If you choose to go on alternative web building sites such as Wix, the cost is around $4.50 (251 PHP) a month for the lowest plan ranging in price depending on the level of plan you choose.

Without a doubt, WordPress is the best, especially for bloggers.

WordPress has many more features, and you can do a lot more things.

I feel WordPress has a better user experience than Wix.

Wix is very user-friendly. It is an easy platform to build a website on. If you use your site for financial reasons, I would 100% choose WordPress as some financial features may not be available to you on Wix.

How to start a blog in the Philippines wouldn’t be complete without comparing blogging platforms!

Feel free to take a look at our full guide on different blogging platforms and services for new Filipino bloggers.

At this stage on how to start a blog in the Philippines, I assume that you have your web hosting service and your website. The next step is to add pluggings.

Plugins are accessories that can be added to your WordPress account.

For example, one of the most important things is that your website is safe and secure, so a standard SSL plugging can be added to create security for your website (remember SSL is also another important ranking factor in the eyes of Google)

There are many different plugins you can download.

Many plugins are free and offer a premium version; however, some plugins are free 100%, which is fantastic!

Additionally, you can also add themes to your WordPress account.

This makes your website look more attractive.

My advice would be to keep your website fast and straightforward.

A recent study found that a website’s layout can affect the bounce rate (meaning that readers came onto a website and then left almost immediately).

However, your website traffic will be low at the beginning stages, so it may be wise to leave the design until a later point.

One of the most important things when looking at how to be a successful Blogger in the Philippines is to discover quality keywords and topics.

Some keyword tools can be purchased for a few 1000’s pesos each month, but you don’t need them!

I hate to say this, but many of the keyword tools are a complete scam.

They don’t do this intentionally, but that data is not always correct.

And as a result, you may focus on a specific topic with very little traffic.

There is no way they can be 100% accurate, but many of these companies say this in their terms and conditions, in all fairness.

The only company that knows what’s being typed into Google and how often is Google.

Autosuggest is one of the easiest ways and the best ways how to find new keywords.

Autosuggest is a process of typing in a word to see what other words or phrases come up.

There’s also a newer method called alphabet soup, which is where you change one letter at a time, for example.

  • How Do I Make Da…
  • How Do I Make De…
  • How Do I Make Dr…
  • How Do I Make Do…
  • How Do I Make E…
  • How Do I Make F…
  • How Do I Make G…
  • And so on…

Autosuggest is often words that have been incorporated at some point into Google.

As a result, the most common terms are frequently at the top, and the less familiar terms are generally at the bottom.

When looking at each keyword or phrase,

You can then start to look at the competition.

Here are a few things you need to look for when conducting your keyword research.

  • Is Google Showing High Authority Websites In The Search?
  • Are The Websites Displaying The Answer To The Question That I’ve Typed In?
  • Are There Websites Forums?
  • Are There A Lot Of Results For This Search Term?

The third question on this list is, are there any website forums.

If you type a query into Google and it comes up with lots of different forums, that means that it’s an excellent opportunity to rank!

Forums are often not specific web pages that have not been created to rank on Google; they are online discussions.

I’m going to assume that you have chosen WordPress.

Don’t worry if not, as this stage is very similar no matter what platform you use.

At this stage, you will have a domain name for your web hosting server and WordPress.

We will now look into designing your site and your social media campaign.

This is an exciting part for most people. I’m sure it is for you too because you can be as creative as you want when it comes to your website!

Of course, it’s essential to keep it user-friendly and readable, but you can experiment with color themes and layout all at your disposal.

If you have difficulty designing sites or it’s not something you particularly want to do, then you can outsource this work.

You can start by hiring someone independently on sites such as Fiverr.com.

Regarding WordPress, they have a team of designers who can design a site from scratch if you need help when looking at how to start a new blog in the Philippines, but this can be quite costly for new bloggers.

In WordPress, you can choose your theme.

Most themes on WordPress are free and offer a premium site, which is very similar to the free theme version but has more features.

However, for most people on the Internet, using a free theme is more than enough for what they need to do.

I would recommend a theme that is easily designable for you and can be easily readable to your audience.

Choosing a writing style is not something people always think about when it comes to blogging.

We all have our style.

For instance, the way I am writing this is how I speak in real life.

These words, the pattern I am using, and the grammar that isn’t in this article are just how I would be speaking and writing in real life.

Your style can be however you want it to be.

There are no right or wrong answers. If you read some blogs, you may notice they are very professional.

This is their writing style.

This professional style is often from an expert’s position, so they regularly include graphs, data, and statistics to back up their research.

The professional writing style is one of many different styles.

I have found success in not writing professionally but more in a friendly and straightforward way.

Therefore, your blog may benefit from many different writing styles.

Many people feel that they need to be experts when they become bloggers.

However, this is not true many successful bloggers are themselves on their blogs.

Once you have your website built, have your design in place, and a few other bits and pieces, we look into building our influence on external platforms such as Facebook, YouTube, and others.

Social media can make or break your business when starting a blog in the Philippines at the beginning.

Let’s take your favorite blogger / Vlogger or perhaps take a website you have visited ten times this year.

Where did you find them?

Perhaps you found them on a Google search or found them on social media such as YouTube, Instagram, etc.

Years ago, a famous Blogger gave a speech to a group of people about building a blog for the first time.

She raised some interesting points.

She said that it is still applicable today because it takes a channel to grow a channel.

You’re probably wondering what she means by that. Well, it took me a while to accept it, if I’m completely honest with you.

Speaking to successful bloggers and YouTubers often informed me that most of their traffic came from social media.

For example, one beauty blogger mentioned her blog gets 70 % of her traffic from her YouTube channel; that’s a hell of a lot of traffic!

If she did not have YouTube, then potentially 70% of her views would not be there, and she would not be on the stage.

The take-home message from this would be not to neglect the power of the multi-channel approach.

Stage five of how to set up a blog in the Philippines involves building your content.

Now that you have your keywords and topics, it’s time to develop your website content.

Your website content is one of the most critical factors in starting a blog in the Philippines because it attracts your audience to your website.

It can often take anywhere from 6 months to 12 months to start to rank highly on Google.

But in some cases, it could take well over a year.

This typically depends on the competition of your keywords or phrases.

Also, if you are a new website, it would likely take longer than an older and more authorized website.

We have spoken in great detail about how to write a blog post in the Philippines in our most recent article, we talked about some critical stages and what you need to do to be a successful blogger in the Philippines; however, to summarise,…

  • Longer Content Often Outperforms Shorter Content
  • Adding Value Is Critical In The Modern World Of Blogging In The Philippines.
  • Answering Your Audiences Question(s) Is Key.

A common question many Filipino bloggers ask is how often should I create content?

Personally speaking, if you are looking to become a full-time blogger in the Philippines, then it’s recommended a minimum of three to four times a week.

This will give you a fair amount of content in the first six months.

If you wanted to speed up the process and have a lot of time on your hands, you could write one article every day or possibly even two…

However, you run a high risk of suffering from writer’s burnout.

At the start… If uploading once a week, a blogger can still make an income and grow their website.

However, it can often take a lot longer than once; therefore, more high-quality posts are more often an excellent strategy for the right kind of person.

Earlier, we looked at how blogging works in the Philippines, and we touched upon creating income sources.

This section will look at your income strategy on how to make money from your blog in the Philippines.

As you can see from the info-graph above, there are multiple ways to earn an income from your blog.

The easiest way for many bloggers is from advertisement, as this can often be placed on a website within the first few months as long as you have high-quality content on your website.

Choosing your niche, which is the first step on how to set up a blog in the Philippines, is also an essential factor when looking at your income.

Your audience will determine your income.

A friend of mine made a terrible mistake when he decided to set up a blog about debt.

His audience were people in debt or who had some financial struggles in their life, and as a result, he was unable to sell any of his products or courses.

The only way he was able to earn a little bit of income was from advertising.

My biggest advice for new Filipino bloggers is to focus on the system and not a goal.

This was written about in a famous book by Scott Adam (and many other best-sellers). Most successful people do not focus on their goals.

Instead, they focus on building systems that will help them reach their goals.

My advice to you is to focus on building systems.

These are income systems on your website. Don’t worry so much about the goal because it will be reached if you can appropriately build the system.

This system may involve adding more content, building an email list, creating a course, or writing your book.

This is the process that will lead you to your financial goal.

Advertisement is extremely popular for bloggers all over the world.

Typically Google ads are the most used advertisement platform for bloggers.

However, many different companies offer this service.

In late 2019 Google ran an update on its ads.

This allowed users to opt-in for what I call random ads.

This means the website owner does not have to put advertisements all over their blog manually.

Now Google will randomly find space on the user’s website and then insert the ad.

If you see an advertisement on this website, it’s been auto-generated and placed somewhere where there was space ( Perhaps between the article ).

Of course, an optional service but saves a lot of time.

With Google, you typically get paid for how many views you receive, which tends to be per 1000 views, and you may get paid for every click on an advertisement.

This depends on the customer of Google and what they have chosen to pay for (PPV or PPC).

Are all countries the same in the eyes of Google ads?

Sadly not, if your audience is from America, Australia, the UK, etc.

Then your average payment will be higher than if your audience is from the Philippines, Vietnam, etc.…

…It’s not a deal-breaker for most, but it’s something to consider when setting up an advertisement revenue and when looking at how to become a blogger in the Philippines.

eBooks are another great way people earn money from their blogs.

This is such a great idea for bloggers because eBooks are digital products, and you do not need to pay for delivery and shipping.

It would help if you made your website accessible for online orders, which is extremely easy to do.

You then have the option to approach other people who could help sell your eBook for a small commission (known as affiliate marketing).

This is standard practice and could be used on your blog in the Philippines.

Affiliate marketing is where you sell someone else’s products for a commission payment.

This is an ever-increasing way to make money online.

Some affiliate programs are not product-related, and some include selling memberships and services.

One of the most well-known affiliate programs is Amazon.

Amazon allows users to help sell Amazon’s inventory in return for a commission.

This is as high as 10%; however, the different categories have a different commission structures.

Closer to home, Lazada.PH also runs a similar affiliate program.

We recently published a full guide on affiliate marketing for blogging in the Philippines and on YouTube which explores the pros and cons and how to maximize your blogging income.

1 key step in starting a blog in the Philippines is to expand and grow. This includes our step of visibility.

Next is the time to expand your visibility.

If you’re wondering how can I become a blogger in the Philippines, then one thing to note is that it’s all about your visibility.

Expanding on your visibility is another way of saying, “make your content easily accessible to the masses.”

Do you have a social media channel?

Are you promoting your content on YouTube?

Social media is one of the easiest and cheapest ways to expand your visibility.

Unless you are selling a product or earning a high income from your blog, I would recommend that you not spend money on advertising as it may not be a wise investment in the long term.

One of the best ways to increase your visibility is, of course, to rank higher.

So at this stage, on how to set up a blog in the Philippines, you may decide that you must write more content for your blog to be successful or perhaps speed up your website.

Okay, this is a crazy goal, I know. Reaching 1,000,000 pesos may seem like an unachievable target for a new blog, but this can be hit within a few years if you can successfully build your blog.

One million pesos is approximately 41,666 pesos every month for two years.

Some independent bloggers earn 100K+ each month from their blog and, in some cases, much more.

I’ve added this to the stages of setting up a blog in the Philippines because one of the best ways to focus on a goal is to work backward from it.

In other words, if you know the destination, then you can build the journey.

How are you going to reach 1,000,000 pesos on your blog?

How many blog posts does your website need to reach 1,000,000 pesos in profit?

How much time do you need to spend each day working on your blog?

Of course, you can change this amount depending on your specific goals, but it’s always essential to have something you are working towards.

PART 2

How To Be A Successful Blogger In The Philippines?

Now that we’ve looked at how to start a blog in the Philippines…

What does it mean to be a successful blogger?

Why are some bloggers more successful than others?

Why are some Filipino bloggers earning millions of pesos?

One of the essential things when looking at being a successful blogger in the Philippines is to create value.

You often generate value by answering your audience’s questions but at the same time going above their expectations.

Today you are here because you wanted to learn about how to start a blog in the Philippines.

So, not only have we gone through the stages, but I’ve also given some real-time images and mini-steps and covered some other questions you may have, such as how blogging works in the Philippines and how to be a successful blogger in the Philippines, blogging tips, etc.

The reason I did this is that I want to create value. I want your blog to be successful, and I want you to earn a good income from your hard work.

To make this happen, I have answered some questions I feel you will ask, and hopefully, I will have provided you with more value than you were expecting.

YouTube is now the world’s second-largest search engine.

Some statistics say that Filipinos spend anywhere from four to six hours on average

On YouTube daily! Many interviewed said they leave YouTube on in the background while cleaning or getting on with their work.

One of the reasons many Filipino bloggers are successful is because they can transfer their content from a blog to a YouTube channel.

There are some pieces of content that people prefer to watch rather than read.

Another reason why starting a YouTube channel is such an excellent idea for the Philippines is that you can transfer your content to a new audience, increasing your visibility, which we spoke about in this section above.

Some of this audience may also work their way back to the website, but your website traffic can also make its way to YouTube, and if this happens, then it means that you stand double the chances of earning money from advertising!

These three gems are critical in the blogging world.

Search engine optimization is an essential factor when looking at how blogs work in the Philippines.

If you can fully optimize your website for human readers and those intelligent bots at Google, you stand much higher in reaching your audience.

Many free courses and digital marketers are also going onto YouTube to share some amazing secrets to building a successful search engine optimization strategy.

E-A-T & BERT are the updates from Google.

BERT Is almost like a language decoder; it helps the bolts read the language, similar to how humans read the language. E-A-T, on the other hand, is slightly different.

This stands for expertise, authoritativeness, and trustworthiness.

BERT is a relatively new concept and something that many bloggers are not aware of (as of yet), But E-A-T is a little more commonly known.

To be a successful blogger in the Philippines, you must analyze these principles that affect your search rankings and overall blog success.

One thing that many successful bloggers do is create a regular schedule.

The great thing about working on platforms such as WordPress is that you can schedule your posts, which means that you can create 100 posts and schedule them to be released over the next year or two if you want to.

This also helps the indexing of your website.

For example, if you regularly update your website, your website will be indexed more often for new content.

On the other hand, if you are only uploading once a month, for example, then your indexing will be a lot slower.

It’s also great to build your audience through a consistent method. It is like the snowball effect, where the snowball gets bigger and bigger and bigger.

In other words, your audience starts to grow more rapidly when you’re consistent.

5. Develop Strong Income Sources

Financially successful bloggers in the Philippines also have one thing in common: developing strong income sources on their sites.

What’s the one thing you think your audience would love to buy?

What would make their life easier?

Additionally, how can you increase your income sources on your website?

There are many different routes you could go down.

For example, if you want to maximize your advertising revenue, you could hire additional writers to produce more content.

On the other hand, if you want to increase your affiliate marketing income, you could find a better affiliate program.

The last step in becoming a successful blogger in the Philippines is to make your site fast, which means super fast.

But, unfortunately, searches do not wait a long time for content unless it is very valuable and something they need.

There are many different strategies on how to speed up your website. Moz has some fantastic ways how to speed up your website, which include;

  • Enable Compression.
  • Improve Server Response Time.
  • Leverage Browser Caching.
  • Minify CSS, Javascript, And HTML.
  • Optimize Images.
  • Reduce Redirects.
  • Remove Render-Blocking Javascript.
  • Use A Content Distribution Network.

Moz is also a fantastic website for SEO learning.

Part 3

question: What Blog Niches Are The Most Profitable

The most profitable blog niches are typically blog niches with high interest and an audience willing to pay for products.

As a rule of thumb, the financial world is a very profitable blog topic because advertisers will often pay top dollar to be featured on these websites.

After all, the audience that comes to these websites often has disposable income.

I have seen cryptocurrency advertisements, stock market advertisements, and even advertisements for a brand new S.U.V. I’ve seen this because advertisers know that people who come to my site often have disposable income or are looking to increase their income.

Even though the financial, fitness and cooking worlds are some of the most profitable blog niches, they are also the most competitive.

I have written content of over 10,000 words, and it has taken me weeks to produce, but it has barely ranked on Google because the competition is so fierce between Filipino bloggers and overseas bloggers.

For example, Yahoo and TransferWise are now starting to blog about certain topics in the Philippines, making it harder for financial bloggers to rank.

This is because these websites have the highest authority and will often show before other blogs.

S.A.M.B states that the most profitable blog niches are Health, Appearance, Wealth, Happiness, and Love.

BUT

The most profitable blog topics are not always the most competitive or even the most popular.

Many bloggers earn a fantastic income from blogging about a subject so tiny or so ridiculous that it seems impossible.

For example, there is a website devoted to how to clean fish tanks!

The owner is part of a community blogging network and talks about how he and money from his blog. He only talks about cleaning fish tanks on his blog.

He has hundreds of thousands of visitors each month and earns over $20,000 each month at a minimum from advertisement and selling products and affiliate marketing.

Therefore it’s not always the most popular or the most competitive topics that are the most profitable.

However, in many cases, if you can find a topic that people are looking for but has low competition or competition that you feel you can beat, then it could be a very profitable blogging idea in the Philippines.
